The Senior Buyer purchases materials, equipment, tools, components and supplies according to approved specifications at the most favorable cost consistent with quality and availability. S/he tracks, analyzes and evaluates market trends, develops new sources, expedites deliveries and maintains contacts with suppliers. Daily duties will include reviewing purchase requisitions and bid proposals, placing orders, and entering into contracts within budgetary limitations, maintaining relevant records, and taking correcting action in the event of defects of purchased goods.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of previous buying experience involving evaluation and analysis of sources, preferably in a customized, “job shop” setting;
- Solid casting/foundry experience with manufacturing and fabrication knowledge;
- International experience/experience with foreign sourcing preferred;
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of on-time deliveries and cost controls;
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Occasional travel is required

The Network Administrator assists staff with the setup, maintenance and administration of LPI’s network infrastructure including servers, network equipment, telecommunications infrastructure, desktop PCs and software applications. Support includes specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
The Network Administrator interacts with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems, and consults one-on-one with end users. The Network Administrator also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers, LPI telephone system, wireless telephones, and associated equipment.
The position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, communication and problem solving; work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Windows Server platforms with an emphasis on Active Directory.
- Some experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server.
- Background supporting IP telephone systems.
- Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills.
- Strong work ethic; team player, able to work independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Above average problem solving skills, organization skills and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Windows 2003 Server, MS Exchange 2003, Oracle Database, MS SQL Server, Citrix, and Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter Engineering.
- Knowledge of VOIP telephone systems, i.e.: 3Com NBX a plus.
