Founded in 1935, Lawrence Pumps designs and manufactures sophisticated industrial centrifugal pumps that provide solutions to some of the world’s most difficult pumping problems. “If it’s too hot, too cold, or too abrasive for standard pumps, Lawrence Pumps will provide the optimal solution,” said CEO Paul Reddick. “Our pumps handle everything from -346oF liquid Nitrogen to +1200oF molten salt. Climates range from -50oF in the oil sands of Alberta, Canada, to 120oF extremes in the Mojave Desert of California.”
“Our remarkable success can be attributed not only to the unique nature of our product but also to the hard work and dedication of our employees and their ability to resolve new challenges presented by global customers in the evolving energy and petrochemical sectors.“

Flue Gas Desulphurization Slurry Pump Partnership Formed In North America By Lawrence Pumps, Inc. And Duechting Pumpen GmbH
The unique, patented and proven SICcast® flue gas desulphurization (FGD) slurry pump technology developed by Duechting Pumpen GmbH in Witten, Germany, is now available in North America through an exclusive alliance with Lawrence Pumps, Inc. in Lawrence, MA.
The SICcast® system helps combat air pollution by removing harmful sulphur particles from stack gasses generated by large industrial burners of fossil fuels, such as coal fired power plants.
Under this partnership, Lawrence Pumps will be the sole U.S. and Canadian resource for SICcast® FGD pumps, with direct responsibility for the sub-assembling and servicing of these highly efficient, long-life systems.
Both Lawrence Pumps (founded 1935) and Duechting Pumpen (founded 1938) are long-established ISO 9001 companies specializing in state-of-the-art pumping solutions in highly abrasive and corrosive applications.
Commenting on the agreement, Paul Reddick, CEO of Lawrence Pumps, said, "The SICcast® pump has seen tremendous success in the European FGD market. We are very excited about bringing this proven technology to North America."
Currently, over half of the approximately 300 coal fired power plants in the U.S. are in need of FGD upgrades to meet the anti-pollution standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's 1990 Clean Air Act.
Reddick continued, "The FGD market is in dire need of a more reliable, cost sensitive pump design. And the SICcast® answers that need. It efficiently solves the corrosion and wear problems experienced with other pump designs, while it lowers the overall cost of operating an FGD unit.
"The SICcast® system contains a dense silicon carbide polymer matrix that is chemically inert," Reddick explained, " It is extraordinarily abrasion resistant with a hardness rating almost equal to diamond. So it produces the most durable FGD pumps possible. No other system or material delivers that."
SICcast® systems from Lawrence Pumps are now being sold in the North American marketplace.
